Symptom

I would like to link the domain name that I rented from Bitpalace to an external provider so that all requests to my website are routed there.

Solution

You can link domains rented from Bitpalace with web space running elsewhere. Usually, A records are set in the name server entry of your domain for this purpose. You can find out exactly what these are from the external provider. Please inform Bitpalace of the desired DNS settings simply by e-mail to the support.

Please also let us know whether only the route for the WWW service (i.e. A record, AAAA record) should be changed, or whether the e-mails should also be managed by another provider (MX record). Usually e-mails and the e-mail service remain here in your webspace account and only the WWW calls are routed to the external provider. You have all options, so please tell us what exactly is to be configured here.

You can also use external e-mail providers such as MS Office 365 or Gmail with your Bitpalace webspace account. For this purpose, MX records are usually changed and CNAME, TXT and SRV records may be set. The same applies to external mail providers: You will receive the exact settings that are to be set in your domain from there.
